Prof. Suman Mukhopadhyay was born in Kolkata. He has completed his B.Sc (1995) and M. Sc (1997) in chemistry from the University of Kalyani, West Bengal. He obtained his Ph.D. in synthetic inorganic chemistry from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science Kolkata (Jadavpur University) 2004. After that, he joined the National University of Singapore as a post-doctoral Fellow. In 2006 he moved to Lisbon as an FCT post-doctoral fellow to join the Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal. In 2009 he moved to the EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland) as a Marie-Curie International Incoming Fellow. In 2010 he was shifted to IIT Indore to join as an assistant professor. He has been working as a professor in the same institute since 2017.
